We have some news—we are moving to Seattle this summer! Well, to the Seattle suburbs. An opportunity came for us to go, and we’re taking it. We went out in early March to look at schools and neighborhoods and fell in love with the area.
Apologies in advance for the lack of photos and links. I’m at the Seattle airport writing this post on my iPhone, so I can’t be as fancy as usual.
We went back to Pike Place Market this morning, and it was packed. So we didn’t spend as much time wandering as we wanted to. But I did get some fantastic cheeses from Beecher’s Handmade Cheeses; their flagship reserve cheddar and Rosemary Jack. We had horrible donuts from a stand by the fishmonger that looked really promising. But the frying oil wasn’t right, and our fresh batch tasted like pure grease. So we went back to Cow Chip Cookies so Adam could try them.
I didn’t make it to PAX today, but we spent the day exploring the sights in Seattle. It was pouring on and off all day, so we did as much inside as we could. We went to the Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum. They didn’t allow photographs inside, but it’s a great facility with tons of cool stuff. Great artifacts from the world of sci fi, and these cool rooms where you can record yourself playing guitar and a bunch of other instruments.
I landed in Seattle late last night, Adam was already here for PAX (Penny Arcade Expo). It’s a huge video game convention for fans, and he’s in his element. I went with him today to see a panel of G4 presenters and staff talk about the convention, must-see games, and answer fan questions.
