I made this quilt for H’s 6th birthday this week, I finished it last week just in time for her big day on Thursday. I used the Lisa the Unicorn pattern from Elizabeth Hartman, and it was phenomenal. Clear directions, and so much fun to make.

I took a break from posting for a few days to finish a deadline. But last Saturday was our last day in Mystic, and we spent the morning at Olde Mistick Village for their Easter egg hunt. Which was such a great last thing to do before we left, if you’re ever in town for any of their family events I really recommend it. We packed up the car and brought Hamilton to their apple orchard with us, which he loved. He was a big hit with many of the little kids out there for the egg hunt, and he was just so excited for sunshine and adventure.
I bought some of Tula Pink’s Nightshade fabric over the summer, and I’m just cutting into it for this year’s Halloween project. I actually really wanted the purple colorway, but I caught a sale and the shop had run out of the purple. I do like this kind of greenish slate colorway, but I’m not feeling the love for what I’ve done with it so far.
Adam had to go into the office today, and it was also the last meeting of the year for the NYC Metro Mod Quilt Guild. It has actually been a full year since I’ve made it to a meeting, I just never managed it once I was pregnant. So I really wanted to go today, and therefore the 3 of us loaded into the car and headed into Manhattan to dip our toes into the whole taking-H-to-the-big-city pond. No crazy activities, no adventures with cabs or subways yet. Just a practice run.
Last night was the October meeting of the Philly Modern Quilt Guild. It was a long night, I spend about 3 hours in the car every time I go to a meeting. But, I love these girls. So I wouldn’t miss it (unless I absolutely have to).
