Here are this week’s obsessions:
These Pencil Coasters from HKExpressions are pretty witty. I thought about buying them to use as gift tags or cards for my writer, librarian, and teacher friends. Or just for a Naughty Librarians party or something. They also have these very kitschy patriotic coasters that would be fun to give as a sort of ironic gift, too. Or for a July 4th cookout.
I *heart* this Sterling Silver Wishbone Pendant from KG Bridal. It’s the kind of thing I would wear every day. Her shop is bridal themed, but more ethereal, “Elvish” inspired so you can find things you just want, wedding or no wedding.
I don’t have any little munchkins of my own yet, but this Ladybugs and Daisies dress from IdaRose is exactly the sort of thing I’d want to make for my daughters someday. The fact that it comes with matching bloomers and a purse is just so me. Fabulous at first glance with the dress and purse, but the bloomers say ready to jump in a mud puddle and get dirty when opportunity knocks. A lady never reveals too much, but still knows how to have a good time. Classy.
I like the idea behind Frannie’s Hearts. She is bringing back a tradition of homemade keepsakes made from fabric remnants that become passed down through the generations. Her site says, “Because they were given by a thoughtful heart, these heirlooms were displayed on doorknobs, dresser pulls and bedposts.” So I LOVE the idea of the cherished keepsake combined with the edginess of this whimsical spider in her Arachnophobia pillow. It’s a modern take that’s twisted, hysterical, and still a keepsake.
This Sea of Pearls necklace from TristaBell is fierce. I love jewelry that looks red carpet but funky, and this fits the bill. It’s hard to see in this photo, but that pendant is polished shell. Very cool. My only issue with dramatic necklaces like this is you have to show a LOT of cleavage to make sure the hanging pendants lay against your skin. Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t wear this if it was over a top. So save it for a hot night out.
See you next week!
