Today it was time for another private school visit. The kids were great, and I just picked fun stories to read to them. I brought A LOT of Mo Willems because I’m doing a program around his books in a couple of weeks. I wanted to try them out. Here’s what I read today.
Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems. Everyone loves this first story about Pigeon. Very interactive, this was the favorite.
Duck at the Door by Jackie Urbanovic. This isn’t as funny as the Mo Willems books, but I like it.
Ladybug Girl by David Soman and Jacky Davis. As much as I love this book, it didn’t work for a read-aloud the way I wanted. I need to work on getting the idea of little kids doing big things across.
Leonardo the Terrible Monster by Mo Willems. The teachers loved this one. A bully with a conscience.
The Pigeon Wants a Puppy by Mo Willems. The kids thought Pigeon’s ideas about how to take care of a puppy were a riot.
There Is a Bird On Your Head by Mo Willems. I love Elephant and Piggie.
Today I Will Fly by Mo Willems. Another great one.
