A couple weeks ago, Adam and I took H to Northlandz. This was a place I’d never heard of before and came across while researching summer fun. And I’m probably the last person to know about this place. It’s the world’s largest model railroad!
This was a very cool thing to do on a hot day, but beware with little ones: once you enter the self-guided tour, there are no exits until the end. And you weave through endless rooms, they say it takes 2-3 hours to do properly. H kept trying to escape because we thought we didn’t need to grab the stroller (grab it, there are ramps everywhere). So we probably did about 90 minutes with some hustle. Use the bathroom first and bring in some drinks and snacks, and then you’ll have an awesome time.
It really is an amazing thing to just look at. The detail, all the rooms, it’s splendid.
And read the owner’s story, it’s fascinating.
Also? Ride the train outside, that was a highlight.
