We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house this year. My family came over, there was turkey, I threw butternut squash in the stuffing, and I made an all-day bone broth with the turkey once the leftovers were eaten.
I love this time between Halloween and the full sprint of the Christmas season. It’s not quite time yet to scramble for presents and decorate everything in site. It’s cozy, November is pure fall weather, and the leaves are still bright and everywhere on the ground. But I feel crafty, and I’m in the mood to be out trekking around the neighborhood, and the woods nearby. I had a batch of leaves ready to go, so when my nephew came over last week for a playdate after school I decided to make some turkeys.
I finished a bunch of big deadlines at work last month, and I managed to get H’s Halloween costume made. Somehow. I’m still not sure how I did that.
I didn’t take many photos, but it was an overdrive kind of month. This towels guide I updated was published, I’d been working on it since I started in July. And I wrote this new guide to cutting machines, which I’d also been working on for months. It was great to see those two published. I’ve turned in a few more things, and I did quick updates to a couple of others. Work is great.

H got all of her blocks back from this summer quilting round robin back in September, and we love them. She’d asked for brown and rainbows, and that is what she got. We haven’t had a chance to sew this quilt together yet, but we will. She’s been less interested in sewing this fall, but she did just ask me the other day if we could make something, so I think we’ll pull these blocks out soon.
It’s here! Trick or Treat Day came and went. I was so in the weeds with this Belle costume, which H asked for back in July, and I ended up sewing the whole thing on Friday night. I stayed up all night, it took 11 straight hours of sewing, I binged all 9 episodes of Stranger Things 2 while I did it. But she is so excited, and I love how this gown turned out.
