Last Saturday we went apple picking at Battleview Orchards. We stopped for hot donuts and cider first, then headed to the fields. This was H’s first real outing as a walker, and it was pretty fun.

After our 3 days in Maine, we spent an afternoon in Portsmouth, NH before heading to Cape Cod for 2 nights.
The main reason we stopped in Portsmouth was because they had a quilt shop. And Portsmouth Fabric Company is a great quilt shop. I scored some Denyse Schmidt, Birch Fabrics, and Cloud9, as well as a great home dec weight hedgehog print from Cosmo.

Once we left Connecticut we headed back up to Portland. We just loved it so much when we were there in March, and we really wanted to go back to Duckfat.
We were there for 3 days, and we spent more time wandering around the city. East End Cupcakes was yummy.
I wrote a post for GeekMom over the weekend about the launch of Phillip Lim’s collaboration with Target. Then bright and early Sunday morning, H and I ventured out to Target for the 8am opening.
There were about a dozen people in line for the opening, and by the time I got H into a cart and over to the clothes women (and a few men) were just picking the racks clean of everything. But, we did manage to get some great goodies into our cart.
The last week in August we set out with my mother- and stepfather-in-law on another road trip through New England. We had such a great time back in March that we decided to do it again. But this time instead of Boston and Vermont, we spent a night in Mystic, Connecticut, went back to Portland for a few days, and then finished up in Cape Cod.
The trip up to CT was insane, the traffic through NYC was so much worse than we expected. But, we did find a Shake Shack in Westport that made everyone’s mood better. I’d never been to one, but Adam had one near his old work office.
H really liked the shakes.
