Other posts on this project: H Banner Pt. 1.
It’s all finished and hanging in the nursery, and I love how it came out.
After I fused the letters onto the background fabric, I satin stitched all around them. My Bernina doesn’t get as dense a stitch as I wanted, but I actually still love the way it looks.
Once I’d appliqued all the letters on I made the quilt sandwich.
I love the quilting on this, I just free motion quilted all over the brown fabric, avoiding the letters so they pop. It’s a little hard to see in photos because of the dark polka dot fabric, but you get the idea.
I bound the whole thing in hot pink polka dots from the Rainy Days and Mondays collection. It actually reads almost as red, but I think it’s perfect against the nursery’s white walls.
I think it looks great, and I sewed some loops to the back of it for hanging.
I love it up there. It was a headache to hang (thank you, dear patient husband!), but we both think it’s worth it.
It looks lovely – especially the wiggly quilting ( sure there’s a technical term for it)….
and perhaps truer than you imagined in English English…..
