I’ve wanted to go to Mario Batali’s Italian market since it opened last year, but it’s just one more thing on the neverending To Do list of cool things. But my father- and stepmother-in-law were in town Labor Day weekend, so we headed to Eataly for lunch at Manzo. I didn’t take photos of the food because my in-laws were with us, but I can tell you that the Mozzarella di Bufalo Campana, with almonds and brown butter, was so amazing. And the Spaghetti alla Chitarra was perfect. Such a good meal.
And walking around the market is amazing, too. You do have to elbow your way through some crowds, but it’s worth it.
I could’ve walked around here all day eating my way from stall to stall, but we were in a “reservations or bust” kind of mood that day. Also, a lot of the most mouth-watering things (prosciuttio, amazing raw cheeses) would be better enjoyed after pregnancy.
However, I am going to have to make a return trip for the fresh pasta. Really, really soon.
I wish I’d taken more photos, but it was so packed and we were moving with a group. But you get the idea, the place is fantastic.
