There are so many movies I’m excited for in the new year, but here are 5 to get us going.

Don’t get me started on James Frey’s writing factory controversy. But I can’t deny that the trailers for this film adaptation of Full Fathom Five’s 1st book are intriguing. Can you like a movie if you object on principal to the book from which it’s adapted? February will tell for I Am Number Four.

Another teen novel adaptation, Beastly is a movie I was really excited about when it was originally scheduled for release in October. When it comes out in March, I’ll be there.

Thor, due out in May. Superheroes. Yes.

I won’t try to deny it, I love Capt. Jack Sparrow. I will be there for his 4th adventure in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in May.

Cowboys and Aliens is one of the strangest ideas I’ve heard in a while, and I cannot wait for July to see it.
