I really wanted to make a Halloween quilt this year. After I made my witches last year I decided to try and sew one new thing a year for Halloween. So this year I wanted a wall hanging. But all the patterns I saw were too cutesy, too twee. I wanted something definitively modern, somehow sophisticated but still very much of this holiday. I saw this Halloween quilt over on Pink Chalk Studio’s blog and was inspired by her spiderweb blocks. But I like symmetry. So I decided I wanted my Halloween quilt to be one big spiderweb, a 24″x24″ hexagon with layers of Halloween fabric. Adam helped out with the trigonometry. So this is what I came up with:
