My family came over to our house today to celebrate my mom. I made 2 chicken pot pies. We gave my mom a really pretty hydrangea. And we had these cupcakes.

These cupcakes are helping to disprove my theory that NJ bakeries can’t make good cupcakes. These are from The Stuffed Cupcake Place in Nutley, my hometown. And they are really delicious and very sweet. This chocolate one in the 2nd picture is filled with a chocolate pudding which is great.

My mom sent me this link to an article about this bakery, which was asked by Oprah Winfrey’s company to donate 15,000 cupcakes for a charity event this morning in NYC. It’s the 10th anniversary of her magazine, so this bakery has been churning out cupcakes since Thursday for the event. My mom knows the owners and has worked with them for catering events in the past. So she went over yesterday after I asked her to bring some cupcakes. They were having a staff party to celebrate hitting the 10,000 cupcake mark (or maybe just celebrating such a huge event). And they were really nice, finding a dozen cupcakes for my mom. So we were happy to have them for dessert today.
