This month sucked. I rang in the New Year with a bang in Paris, but I woke up sick on January 1st. And as of today I can officially announce that I have been sick every single day this month. Stomach bug for a week, flu for 2, sinus infection/residual stuff from the rest of the month for another week. I’m still on antibiotics, I’m still getting woozy/headachey episodes from being all congested. I’ve had bloodwork done 4 or so times while my doctor tries to figure out why I didn’t kick the bug faster. It’s been great fun. It’s gotten me pretty down. Especially since I always seem to get sick in January.
So, I’m determined to feel better and not get down in the dumps in February. It’s my birthday month, after all, and I’ve got a lot to be positive about. After a couple of years pinching pennies as new homeowners, things are starting to ease up a little. Work is going well, my family is good, friends are good. So I’m making a list of all the projects/wishes that have been rattling around in my brain this month while I’ve been too under the weather to do much of anything.
- I am a shoe hoarder. I need to organize and cull my shoe stash to make some room in my closet. I have seriously considered taking my hot glue gun to the soles of some $12 Target shoes just to avoid throwing them out. This needs to stop.
- There are several magazines that I hunt down at B&N every month. I need to just get some subscriptions.
- I’ve had more time to make booklists this year, and I have a whole backlog of topics I’ve wanted to do but haven’t had the time for since I left the public library.
- I’m going for a spa day this week at my favorite local spot.
- I’ve been making more connections in Philadelphia. I live about an hour from NYC and an hour and a half from Philly, but I never go to Philly. This will be changing pretty soon.
- My blogroll is kind of a mess. I really need to figure out a better way to organize it.
- I need new makeup, new clothes, new basics.
- We have a Mail Bucket of Doom downstairs that is in serious need of sorting. We have unopened mail in it going back to last August.
- I want to organize all the new recipes I want to try out.
- I really want to learn to use Adobe Illustrator. We have it, I don’t know how to use it.
- We’re trying to plan a trip for Spring Break.
- I need to renew my car’s registration and get it inspected. It’s also time to consider trading it in.
