This month sucked. I rang in the New Year with a bang in Paris, but I woke up sick on January 1st. And as of today I can officially announce that I have been sick every single day this month. Stomach bug for a week, flu for 2, sinus infection/residual stuff from the rest of the month for another week. I’m still on antibiotics, I’m still getting woozy/headachey episodes from being all congested. I’ve had bloodwork done 4 or so times while my doctor tries to figure out why I didn’t kick the bug faster. It’s been great fun. It’s gotten me pretty down. Especially since I always seem to get sick in January.
Other posts on this project: Rainbow Quilt Pt. 1.
I’ve finished piecing together the 4 rows for this quilt. Now I need to piece together the sashing strips to go between the rows and all around the quilt.
Here is my first author booklist of 2010. I’ve been getting into the picture books of Alison McGhee, also a novelist, but I can’t say that she’s a brand-new discovery to me since I’ve read some of her books in the past. But the more I read, the more I like.I haven’t read all of them, but almost.
Let’s face it, January has sucked for me. I’ve been sick with one crazy thing or another since (literally) New Year’s. So it’s time to start a project just because it’s going to cheer me up. So I’m going to make Kathy Doughty’s Avalon Quilt from Material Obsession just because. And I’m using a rainbow of colors to do it. AND, I’m going to try to machine quilt it myself. Take that, universe!
