Yes, it is currently being cast for Broadway. Previews begin in February, and the show opens in March. Alan Cumming has signed on to play the Green Goblin, and Evan Rachel Wood is cast as Mary Jane. No one else has been cast yet. The music is by Bono and The Edge, and it’s directed by Julie Taymor (who made the oustanding Lion King show for Broadway and directed the awesome movie Across the Universe).

But I just don’t know how I feel about this. Spider-Man as a musical? It just feels wrong, and yet the cast and creators are so right. I love Alan Cumming, L-O-V-E love him. And I <3 Bono AND The Edge. But…it’s Spider-Man: The Musical! Is nothing sacred?
