So Adam’s firm is building a new giant headquarters in downtown Manhattan, and it’s almost done. Apparently some of the construction workers found a litter of abandoned kittens, in good health, under the floorboards somewhere inside. The kittens are being looked after by a downtown animal rescue organization, and they’re trying to get employees of Adam’s firm to adopt them all.
I want one.
There’s a lengthy process to get a kitten, including a long application, an interview process, and a non-refundable deposit. I’ve always gotten my cats the old-fashioned way: shelters and strays. But Adam and I both really like the idea of adopting one of these kittens, and this is leading us to think about adopting any kitten if we’re unable to get one from this litter.
I’m allergic to cats. I get kind of red and itchy around them, but I’ve always grown up with them and am wondering if I should call my doctor for advice. Conflicted!
