I am so exhausted. I don’t know if I’ve ever been this tired before. Today is the kickoff to the Summer Reading Program at my library, which meant lots of last minute prep and a huge party today with lots of kids. That wasn’t actually the truly exhausting part of this week.
Yesterday was Adam’s green card interview. He was approved and is now an official permanent resident of the USA (W00t!). But we had a week’s notice for the interview after 6 months of endless paperwork during the application process.
We were up until 1:30 the night before the interview preparing this: The Binder of Doom. This holds originals and copies of every important document in our lives. It is the scariest binder ever assembled by man. Birth certificates, SS cards, credit cards, bank statements, tax returns, mortgage, house deed, immigration forms. Every piece of financial, personal, and goverment information about us was in this binder. I felt like we needed our own security detail just to get to the interview, especially since we were carrying it around on 3 hours of sleep. It was like cruising down the NJ Turnpike with a Gutenberg Bible. In a sensible Mazda hatchback with good gas mileage. Terrifying.
But now that Adam is official and we can put the whole process behind us, I can get my energy levels back up and get back to blogging. Hazah!
