I fell in love with Purl Bee’s Thanksgiving Appliqued + Quilted Runner and decided to make a Christmas version for our dining room table. The table is nowhere near this long, so I’ve been working on getting the proportions and colors just right.
Here are some of the fabrics I considered. I had so many I liked that I might make an actual Thanksgiving runner, too.
I cut my patches into 2 sizes: 3″ and 8″. I also cut fusible interfacing the same size and sewed it on.
My finished patches. I made 1 of each size in 9 fabrics. I had 6 leftover.
Here’s the top of this runner with all the patches ironed on. Now I need to go back and stitch them on. Then I’ll quilt it to the backing and put on some binding. Love it!
