Went back into Manhattan today to have my annual Christmas celebration with Maggie. We’ve developed a brunch tradition lately, so this morning we met at Vynl in Chelsea for omelets, girl talk, and gifts. I gave Maggie peach balsamic vinegar and Meyer lemon olive oil from Carter & Cavero, my favorite local shop. Maggie gave me a set of rubber bracelets (made from recycled flip flops) from the Made With Love project, which feeds homeless children in Africa. She had me at “Made with love.”
The weather was abysmal, pouring rain outside. But we ventured down the street to Chelsea Market (home of Food Network). We took pictures of each other by the festive decorations (mine is above) and bought lots of food. Bread twists from Amy’s Bread, brownies from Fat Witch Brownie, and something for Adam’s stocking.
Another great day, and a nice way to end a packed weekend of Christmas festivities. Now it’s time to get ready for the real world again at work this week. Just 12 days till Christmas!
