I haven’t knit or crocheted anything in more than a year! A few weeks ago I was itching for a new yarn project, the stash in my closet was making me feel rather guilty. So I decided to make a new scarf for fall after seeing the preppy Stripes (and Stripes) Forever Scarf by Chelsea Fowler-Biondolillo featured in Stitch ‘n Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller. The book crochets the scarf in great grass green and hot pinks, but I decided to do a mix of browns and creams for mine so it would go with everything.
It’s taking a while to crochet (I keep wanting to say “knit up”) because a) I had to remember how to crochet in the first place and b) every row is 300 stitches long. I posted a few times last year about my battles with learning to crochet as someone who has been knitting off and on for almost a decade. So this project was also to help sharpen my yarn skills after a long hiatus. Hopefully I’ll actually finish it by the time the weather gets cool.
