So it’s been a little more than 2 weeks since work ended, and I’m (hopefully) starting to hit a stride. H went through almost a solid month of nonstop teething right around the end of the school year, which just turned things upside down a little. Plus I started writing in earnest for GeekMom and trying to keep up with my posts. The house has been in a state while I finished up the job, so…in general it’s been a little chaotic around here since, oh…mid March.
But I’m starting to get a grip, and that includes starting a new quilt. I haven’t touched my machine since I finished our All Hands on Deck beach quilt, which we’ve been using like crazy. I’ve had a 10″ stacker of Riley Blake’s Sunny Happy Skies fabric forever, and it seemed like a fitting name and a fitting print to cut into while I clean all the slates. So far I’ve just cut all of the 10″ squares into 5″ squares. I’m keeping this one really simple, a baby quilt. Hopefully it will come together quickly, because it’s for someone specific…who is due any day!
