Woohoo! I’m so excited to finally announce this one. I made this quilt about a year ago, and now I can share it! It’s in Issue 15 of the Australian digital magazine Make Modern. I love that magazine (check out their Instagram, too, @makemodernmagazine–it’s gorgeous). And I’m so proud to actually be in it!
This pattern gave me a reason to experiment with my new embroidery machine last year, I embroidered on the numbers.
And it was a great chance to highlight some of my favorite prints from my stash in the center of these wonky log cabin blocks. I used a mix of quilt store prints and stuff from JoAnn…whatever was cute and in my stash.
I bound it in this great wood grain print. Which I no longer have, and cannot remember the name of. But it made a great neutral contrast.
This one has been rolled up in our stash of playtime supplies, ready to take out on a rainy day. We use it inside with socks, but if you used a darker neutral instead of white this would rock at a picnic or outside play date.
Here’s three-year-old H trying it out after I finished it, on February 1st last year. She’ll be 5 next week, what is happening??
