We just got home last night from a week-long family trip to Maine. Everyone’s been hit with a cold, but somehow today I’m the only one still under the weather. So I’m going through my photos and trying to get back into the swing of home life.
We left home last Friday and stopped for lunch in New HavenĀ at this incredibly delicious soul food restaurant, Sandra’s Next Generation. It’s run by a lovely family, and it was the absolute best fried chicken I’ve had since college. I’m still thinking about this chicken more than a week later!
H had her first proper cornbread.
We’d hoped to walk around the Yale campus a little, but we needed to get ahead of the traffic into Boston. We were meeting up with family there for dinner.
I had a pretty yummy burger at b. good, and H very much enjoyed her latest hotel stay. She’s kind of got the hotel thing down; claim a bed, set up camp.
On Saturday we headed to the New England Aquarium all together before continuing on to Maine. It’s a fun aquarium, but it was so packed. The sea views are great.
So were the sea lions.
H did love walking around looking at creatures.
And, the gift shop had the best tees.
Then we headed up to Maine to our rental. I’m still sorting through those photos, more to come.
